ABOUT “POLARIS”

CHRISTINA KAPLAN

Christina M. Kaplan (“The Polaris Pirate”) is a Miami-born Cuban-American author, historian, and certified tour guide in St. Augustine, Florida. She writes romantic and adventurous fiction grounded in historical fact, inspired by local legend, and shaped by the rich tapestry of her Spanish and Sephardic heritage.

In 2022, she and her family fell in love with America’s oldest city and made it their home. Drawn to its layered past, Christina began researching and interpreting the stories still living in its streets, and in the process dug deeper into her own Spanish roots. That research became both her first novel, Whispers of the Castillo, a love letter to the city that gave her family new beginnings, and the foundation for her guided experiences.

Today she blends historical research with storytelling to serve as a guiding star for readers and visitors alike, leading them on adventures filled with curiosity, discovery, and personal connection.
